Released in 2018, the Nike iD Air Max "Heritage" 98' R9 is a limited edition indoor tribute to one of the most iconic moments in football boot history — Ronaldo Nazário's (R9) legendary silver and blue Mercurial worn at the 1998 FIFA World Cup France, the boot that changed football forever and launched the Mercurial legacy.

Nike launched the Heritage Pack in 2018 to celebrate the iconic Mercurial colourways from past World Cups — the 1998 R9 Silver/Blue, the 2006 Germany edition, and the 2014 Brazil edition — available as Nike iD custom styles on the Mercurial Vapor 12, Mercurial Superfly 6, and this special Air Max indoor model. The 98' R9 edition brings the legendary silver and blue colourway to the Air Max platform for indoor and futsal play — a unique collector's crossover between football heritage and Nike's iconic footwear.
