The Nike Mercurial Superfly V × EA Sports from 2016 is a brand new, limited edition example of one of the most iconic collaborations in football boot history — style code 852512-804. Released to coincide with FIFA 17, this ultra-limited boot pays tribute to the FIFA franchise — the most popular virtual football game of all time — with a stunning visual journey from 8-bit pixels to high-definition reality across a bold Total Crimson/Black colourway.
The design tells a story. On the medial side, 16-bit pixelated graphics recall the early FIFA games of the mid-1990s — blocky, vivid, unmistakable. As you turn the boot to the lateral side, the pixels gradually dissolve into the high-resolution graphics of the modern game — a breathtaking representation of how far both football and gaming have come. A specially designed pixelated Swoosh appears on the medial side and is echoed on the boot box and boot bag. The EA Sports logo is woven into the insole, laces, and heel cap, with gold thread running through the laces and an iridescent outsole completing this one-of-a-kind design.
Built on the Mercurial Superfly V platform — Nike’s pinnacle speed boot of 2016 — with a Flyknit upper for a lightweight, second-skin fit, a Dynamic Fit high-cut collar for a seamless ankle-to-boot connection, and an FG carbon fibre soleplate for explosive acceleration on firm natural grass.
