Kicking off the 30th anniversary celebrations of one of the most iconic and long-lasting boots in the game, Nike present the Tiempo Legend X ‘Emerald’, which is coated in a luxurious “Dark Atomic Teal/Sail” colourway.
As one of the longest-serving silos at the very top level of the game, the Nike Tiempo really needs no introduction. Since its impactful debut at the 1994 World Cup, it has maintained its status as a feature through a process of constant evolution, changing with the times to ensure that it’s always stayed relevant and ever-present on pitches at the top level of football. Now, 30 years on from that debut and with that milestone in mind, Nike lift the veil on the Tiempo Legend X ‘Emerald’ – the first in what is likely to be a string of releases to celebrate the icon.
The Tiempo X arrived back in September 2023, and it was the first to feature FlyTouch Plus – Nike’s latest material innovation. It’s a proprietary synthetic leather, which is soft, light, and strong, giving athletes extra ball control where they need it most, while it also helps make the Tiempo Legend X the lightest Tiempo to date, as well as 55 percent less water-retentive than previous versions.
The ‘Emerald’ edition sees it suit up in a greenish look, officially titled as "Dark Atomic Teal/Sail", with the teal as a base colour, dominating the upper, while white accents contrast nicely for a unique look. a pearlescent effect nods to the 30 year anniversary (30 years is pearl). It's a look you can expect to see fairly widely in the coming weeks, with pros such as Jamal Musiala, Pernille Harder, Leah Williamson, Frenkie De Jong and many more lacing up in it.
