First unveiled as a concept at Nike's Innovation Summit in New York City in February 2020, the Air Zoom Ultra took two years of development before finally dropping in an ultra-limited consumer release. This is what happens when Nike's design team experiments with the best footwear innovations across the entire company and pushes the boundaries of what a football boot can be.

The centrepiece of the Air Zoom Ultra is a full-length articulated Zoom Air strobel unit — technology borrowed from the basketball court and adapted for football to create unprecedented underfoot sensation and explosive energy return with every stride. The Zoom Air airbag is the focal point of the design — visible, and even exposed and touchable on the underside of the boot. A light, translucent upper combined with Flywire midfoot lockdown keeps the boot incredibly lightweight while delivering a secure, locked-in fit.
